Gucci Fall 2017 Courrier SLGs

Gucci

Gucci’s new Courrier collection is cute. There, I said it. Having gained quite a bit of buzz from the day it was released (seriously, because it is that cute, that’s why), it is essentially a series of bags and SLGs inspired by Creative Director Alessandro Michele’s love of travel, which is also a major source of inspiration for him when it comes to his collections. Evident on the patches/prints embroidered/printed onto the GG Supreme coated-canvas body, it is a fun and whimsical collection, looking like how we’d slap on printed stickers onto our luggages from places we’ve visited.

Besides a series of bags in a number of shapes and sizes, the Gucci Courrier collection extends further into a selection of SLGs, like these 3 that were spotted at the Gucci ION Orchard boutique. Coming in an eye-catching airmail (red-white-blue) leather trim with an assortment of graphic patches/prints, there’s no stopping you ladies (yes, it is from the mens collection) from getting a piece or two thanks to its quirky unique look that both sexes can pull off equally well.

Measuring 13 cm by 8 cm is the card case that is priced at SGD590, essentially a 3-compartment zippered pouch that comes with an embroidered dragon and printed city appliqué that work well together. Then there’s a passport case (SGD640) and the billfold wallet (SGD680) that also come jazzed up with the iconic Gucci logo taken from the archives, along with other cute appliqués added on. The beauty of each piece is in the way the embroidered appliqué is hand-applied individually by skilled craftsmen, so no two pieces are exactly the same.

All available in Singapore with more styles expected soon, here’s a quick update on the iPhone7Plus phone case situation at Gucci. Yes, we’ve waited a long time for this, so you’ll be pleased to know this, with the Angry Cat print, will fit phones that size and is priced at SGD330. Now go shop first and thank me later.

24 Sèvres: Shop Online With Le Bon Marché

Other Brands

IMAGE: 24SÈVRES

We at Bagaholicboy have been keeping tabs on 24 Sèvres for months now, eagerly awaiting its online debut and today we are happy to announce that it’s finally up and running! Touted to be the next big online shopping destination, 24 Sèvres is managed by Parisian department store giant Le Bon Marché that is owned by LVHM, which would also explain why you’ll be seeing leather bags from the likes of Dior and Louis Vuitton for sale online for the very first time ever.

Scanning through the list of designers, there are many brands now available online that weren’t previously available before, and besides Dior and Louis Vuitton, there’s also Miu Miu, Moynat and Prada. *squeal*

And before we start checking out stuff already in our cart *double squeal*, here are 10 things you need to know about 24Sevres.com stat.

01 – While it is true that luxury brands like Dior and Louis Vuitton are available for sale, they do not ship to Singapore at the moment (which you’ll realise once you change your location to Singapore upon checkout). Bah.

02 – There are, however, exceptions. Take, for example, Moynat, which has 7 pieces from their Mambo collaboration up for grabs. Baby steps, ok?

03 – And speaking of changing the location, once you do that, you’ll realise that prices offered online and in Singapore are not much different. Case in point? Loewe’s T-Pouch is priced at SGD926 (you’ll be charged EUR615) online but in Singapore it retails for SGD950.

04 – Express shipping to Singapore will only take 2 days and set you back by EUR20. Not bad, not bad at all.

05 – Brands you can buy online if you are based in Singapore? Lots. There’s everyone from the likes of Chloé to Gucci, alongside Givenchy, Loewe, Miu Miu, Prada and Valentino, just to name a few.

06 – Offerings now are on the scant side, but since this is still the soft launch we are pretty sure more will be added to their online inventory in the coming months.

07 – Also, everything offered online now is skewed towards women, so boys, you got keep those fingers crossed and just wait a little more.

08 – As with every good online shopping destination, there are exclusives to be found nowhere else. From a very special seasonal Hammock Bag from Loewe (SGD7096) to a pair of blue striped Roger Vivier flats (SGD7000), there are gems to be found if you look hard enough.

09 – Besides bags, you’ll also find RTW and shoes, alongside beauty offerings from brands we’ve never even heard before. Ever heard of Casanera? Or Granado? Maybe Phebo? Well, they are all available online at 24Sevres.com!

10 – Sadly though, there’s no sight of Céline, even though almost every other luxury brand under LVHM’s marque has made an appearance already. Still, a girl (or this boy) can dream and hopefully they will be offered online (and to Singapore) soon enough.

VALENTINO RESORT 2018 RUNWAY BAG

As Valentino Garavani beautifully summed it: “Elegance is the balance between proportion, emotion, and surprise,” the same thing can be said with the latest Valentino Resort 2018 Runway Collection. Exquisitely beautiful with its divine and dreamy artistry with a focus on romanticism, hiphop and punk, it looks like this Italian fashion house perfectly nailed its Resort 2018 Runway Collection.

Weaving its magic, we couldn’t help but gush and let ourselves be drawn by its theme. The bags on the other hand are another thing for they are exceptionally stunning as well. Take a look at this eccentric bubble gum pink colored purse which screams feminine punk at its finest with its thick diamond quilting paired with stark white-toned rock studs. As you can see, it boasts of a flap top with a flip lock closure for an added sense of security. It also has a top handle and a chained strap for effortless hand, shoulder, and cross body carrying. Lastly, it features a nametag.

Another bag that appealed most to us would be this elegant black shoulder bag with a feathery accent at the topmost part. Made from genuine leather paired with gold-tone hardware, this beauty of a bag is a perfect day-to-evening companion. It features a chained shoulder strap for easy hand, shoulder, and cross-body carrying.

Dior #DiorAddict Medium Flap Bag

Other Brands

IMAGES: BAGAHOLICBOY

If this bag were a fragrance, it would be a heady mix of brass and leather, given that combination of aged gold-tone hardware and soft supple lambskin that’s simply too irresistible to resist. A new offering from Dior’s Pre-Fall 2017 collection (you can follow this link to see more) that’s part of the #DiorAddict line of bags, it’s also the one that has my heart.

Let me elaborate. Measuring some 24 cm by 16 cm (this is for the Medium size), the DiorAddict Flap Bag is quite simply one of the most beautiful creations from Maria Grazia Chiuri’s design team yet. Not exactly a new shape, but when paired with that vintage-inspired clasp that’s topped with DIOR, it’s a combination that works. Coupled with the stitched Cannage leather that’s a Dior signature, you can wear the bag long or short, depending on how you adjust the long sling.

IMAGE: BAGAHOLICBOY

On the inside of the bag you’ll find suede, with a single gusseted body that allows you to put as much as you want (or as little as you need) without ruining its shape. There’s also the pair of pockets on each side, one a patch compartment, the other a zip pocket for those things you prefer to keep out of sight.

Priced at SGD4500 for the Medium (or SGD4200 for the Small that measures 21 cm by 13 cm), it’s a classic-in-the-making from the French luxury house that you should buy for the following 3 reasons. Firstly, it won’t date anytime soon, secondly, it’s much more affordable than other similarly shaped bags on the market today and lastly, this little darling is really easy on the eyes which is always a good thing.
